Well world, I face a daunting crossroads. In spite of my recent inexplicable hospitalization, my friend Jake and I are seriously considering attempting (and completing) an eating challenge in the very near future. I would consider it the last truly American thing I do for a while, considering I am leaving for Ireland in 2 weeks. I would also consider it very stupid, seeing as it goes against all of my normal dietary habits and gastrointestinal track record. I've eaten a lot in my day, but 5lb of pizza may be a tad ridiculous. I will attempt to train over the next week, and we'll see what happens. Intense exercise and 1 huge meal a day will ensue (and maybe a small bowl of complex carbohydrates, like Fiber One, in the morning).
...What have I gotten myself into? I might have to rethink this one for health reasons.
On a less gluttonous note, I'm very excited about my impending international adventures. I'm in the midst of reading a book which chronicles the troubles of Northern Ireland. It is quite comprehensive, and I already feel well-informed on the events...up to 1973, anyway. Apparently 37 years have passed since then. Negligible.
I am also very excited about traveling to Cape Town, South Africa, following the semester in Ireland. It'll be great seeing my friend Matt and experiencing a new continent, country, and culture. Also, Christmas in summertime sounds incredible. That will be a reality, barring any freak weather incident.
